There are only five reasons a website doesn't generate leads. Diagnose yours in 10 minutes.

1. Nobody's finding it

Check Google Search Console. If you get fewer than 100 impressions per week for local buyer-intent keywords, the problem is discovery — not conversion. Fixes: Google Business Profile, local SEO, Google Ads, or Local Services Ads.

2. The wrong people are finding it

You rank for a keyword, but for the wrong intent. Traffic to blog posts, informational queries, or out-of-area searchers won't convert. Look at the top pages in Search Console and ask: would a buyer land here? If not, tighten your target keywords.

3. The homepage doesn't say what you do

Show your homepage to 3 people outside your industry. If they can't tell you what you sell, who you sell it to, and where — in 5 seconds — the homepage is the leak.

4. The site is too slow, too cluttered, or broken on mobile

Test at pagespeed.web.dev. Below 60 on mobile = you're bleeding traffic before it converts. Common killers: hero videos, unused fonts, tracking scripts, unoptimized images.

5. The path from interested to contacted is broken

  • No phone number in the header
  • 8-field contact forms
  • Forms that break on mobile
  • No confirmation after submission
  • Nobody responds within 5 minutes

Fix the fastest broken step first. Order doesn't matter — impact does.

The 10-minute audit

  1. Search Console: are you getting impressions?
  2. Search Console: are you ranking for buyer-intent keywords?
  3. 5-second test: does the homepage explain the business?
  4. PageSpeed: mobile score above 60?
  5. Form test: submit your own form from a phone. Did it work? Did anyone reply?
